Ryan Mastro discovered his love of photography while documenting his time in the United States Marine Corps. After 5 years in the Marines, he set out for the Rocky Mountain School of Photography in Missoula, Montana, inspired by the mountains and wide-open landscapes. But Mastro is a music guy, and when he heard Pearl Jam was coming through town, he knew he had to score a photo pass. That bit of hustle made all the difference for Mastro. Over the next 15 years he shot more than 50 music festivals, hell-bent on making unforgettable images. His work has appeared in several galleries including the Panopticon Gallery in Boston, the SoHo Photo Gallery in New York, and the Rayko Photo Center in San Francisco. He’s been recognized by PDN, Billboard, and the International Photography Awards. Today, Mastro lives in New Jersey with his two children, Eli & Violet. He is still a music guy.
